Team TMV is Au Naturale

What does it mean to be au naturale...?

Natural:  (adj) existing in or caused by nature; not made or caused by humankind. (noun) a person regarded as having an innate gift or talent for a particular task or activity....or in this case free of CHEMICALS!!!

Common Terms: these terms are your friends so get to know them!
  • Processed: to perform a series of mechanical or chemical operations on something in order to change or preserve it.
  • Weave: a form of hair extensions.
  • Big Chop or BC: when one cuts off all of the processed hair in order to have a fresh start with their hair.
  • Two Strand Twist: a protective hairstyle that involves two sections of hair intertwining with each other.
  • Twist Out: a protective hairstyle that involves untwisting the two strand twist...fluff as needed.
  • Braid Out: see two strand twist and twist out.
  • Bantu Knots: a protective hairstyle that involves sectioning the hair off and twisting it until it forms a knot...pictures to come on this one.
  • Bantu Knot Out: see twist out.
  • Dreadlocks: a hairstyle or a way of lyfe...you choose.
    • Dreadlocks can be achieved in several ways.
      • Most people go to a beauty salon and let someone "twist" (at that point are they even called dreadlocks. wouldn't they be considered twist locks?) their hair, so that they form this rope like pieces of hair...pictures and videos to come.
      • Then you have other people that do have dreadlocks, but instead of them going to the beauty salon and letting someone else twist their hair, they do it them selves.
      • And last but not least you have those that choose to freeform...
        • To freeform basically means to let the hair "do what it do!"
